Days in XIAMEN!!!!!

Monday 8/3/10

6.10am – My parents fetched me and Alson to the airport and till around 6.50am, we checked in to the airport and had our luggage sent in. We bid farewell to my parents. We boarded the SilkAir and it took off at 8.10am. We reached Xiamen airport at around 12.10pm. Luckily the time is still the same as it was in Singapore. The temperature was like 13 degrees Celsius. It wasn’t really cold at that point of time. Everyone was having the feel like “Don’t know each other” and we didn’t talk to each other much. After that, it took us 20 minutes to reach the hotel by bus. I was in the logistics team and helped them to put their luggage in the bus. It was Wang Hai Hotel. We reached the hotel at around 3pm. We then unpacked our luggage and passed our passport to Mr Chee. And not forgetting that the 2 lecturers who came with us to Xiamen were Mr Chee and Ms Faizah. They were both very friendly. After putting out luggage, we gathered at the lobby and it was like 5pm already. Then we went for dinner as a whole at somewhere near Xiamen University there and ate beef fillet for dinner and reached the hotel at 9.15pm. We then had free time till 9.45pm and gathered at the lobby area and discussed about tomorrow’s schedule. And good night after that!

Tuesday 9/3/10

Woke up at 8am and went to take a bath. Gathered and went to Xiamen University and had a tour around there. We then had lunch at the restaurant in the University and oh my god, there were too many dishes and we can’t finish it! Then we packed noodles and vegetables. But we threw it in the end as it became cold and inedible. After that at early evening we went to GuoErMa to eat dinner. We ate “zha jiang mian, guo tie and dessert!!” and it was really delicious! Then we went to look around if there’s any movie to catch but it was around 7.30pm already and there were no nice movies there. We were supposed to reach back to the hotel room at 9.30pm, but we reached at 10pm. And took a shower with “HOT” water and it was so refreshing! After that, I played “True of Dare” with Betty, Stella, Huishan and Valson. We had some secrets that we would not say out to others. After that, it was 2am and we went to sleep and had a little chat with Valson, my roommate till 2.30am and sleep!

Wednesday 10/3/10

Woke up at 10am and went to eat dumplings with like 22 people out of 40 people! It was quite nice but the place was too small and we had to squeeze! 1 plate was filled with 15 dumplings and it costed 6RMB! It was rather cheap like $1.20 per plate! Then after that went to the same place like where we went on Monday and I bought a Ben Sherman t-shirt. It costed me 232RMB after a 20% discount. My friend said that it was more expensive in Singapore so it was rather worth it! After that walked for awhile and went to an outlet shopping mal and saw branded stuffs like D&G, Gucci, Prada, Burberry and so on. It was still very expensive thought not as much as in Singapore and did not buy anything. And after that went back to the hotel with some people only. Then we ate “Dao Xiao Mian” for dinner and it was normal, not really nice as I expected. Then after that bought cake with is 12 inches wide as it was PeyJing and Bavahni’s birthday. We each forked 5RMB to buy the cake and we sang the birthday song at around 9.30pm. Then there were leftovers and we could not finish it. And after that had 2 rounds of DotA and it was 1am. Then chatted with Valson for a short while and slept!

Thursday 11/3/10

Woke up at 6.30am and changed into jeans and shirt as it was too cold for me to take a shower. Then gathered at 7.40am and boarded the bus to Xiamen University for the 1^st lesson of our Business Communications 2. It started at 8am, our class had an introduction of everyone as we do not know each others’ names and do not know each other well. The lesson ended at 12.30noon. Then Gekchong and I stayed back in class to use laptop and to our wonders we saw Keiko and clique and Jasmine and Bernard in the class. Some were taking pictures and Me, Jasmine and Gekchong were chatting. It was fun and we gathered at around 2.30pm in the basement of a hall and watched a performance till 4pm. Then we took a public bus no. 87 back to the hotel and we went to eat dinner with Winson, Alson, Gekchong and Mulvika. We ate a roasted chicken, dumplings and a bowl of noodle. It was filled with warmth as it was so cold, even what I am doing now, typing words here. Then went back to hotel and played guitar for awhile and took a long shower as I did not bath in the morning. Then I came out to the lobby to have a chat with the others. After that sleep! P.S The weathers getting warmer and warmer!!

Friday 12/3/10

Woke up at 7am and changed and took a shower and changed into the usual clothes. 2^nd lesson of Business Communications 2 and it ended at around 11.45am. After that we went to eat our lunch nearby the hotel and went back after that. Valson and friends decided to go to the train station to shop, together with Mr Chee and Ms Faizah. Gekchong and I stayed in the hotel and rest instead. After resting to about 6pm, Gekchong and me went to take a walk and asked the receptionist which place is ideal for us to go and we walk to the beach instead. After walking for 30 minutes, we decided to take bus number 503 to the amusement park. We found that there are a lot of games for us to play and told most of the people we would be going to the amusement park to play on Sunday. Then sleep!
